Responsible hygiene solutions for your business

Low-impact, high-performance products

A responsible business needs partners who deliver effective solutions with a lower environmental impact. Partnering with us means choosing from a range of solutions that can help you meet different environmental targets without compromising on hygiene.

Lower energy and battery waste:

We can help you reduce battery usage with solutions that improve battery life or eliminate the need for them. For example, Signature AirFlow Scent provides effective washroom fragrancing* without needing batteries or any other power source.

Reduce virgin plastic use:

You can partner with a supplier that’s actively reducing its use of virgin plastic. We’ve reduced our overall plastic use in packaging and products by 238.5 tonnes since May 2020 through a range of initiatives, including packaging changes and material substitutions in our products. For example, our Signature Scent fragrancing bottles reduce reliance on virgin plastic by using plastic made from 70% post-consumer recycled plastic waste.

Moisturising and Natural Fresh handwash

Choose washroom supplies that support your goals

Making responsible choices about your washroom supplies is a powerful way to meet your environmental targets. We offer a range of solutions that are backed by trusted environmental certification.

Trust handwashes with certified performance:

Our Sensitive, Moisturising and Natural Fresh handwashes have been recognised for their lower environmental impact.

They’re accredited with the EU Ecolabel, the official European certification of environmental excellence, so they have demonstrated a reduced environmental impact during the entire development process (from the extraction of raw materials through to production, use and disposal).

Improve efficiency with waste-reducing soap:

Our foam handwash is designed for high-traffic environments, requiring 40% less dosage volume than our traditional liquid handwashes. With 600 more doses per litre, it means fewer refills to manage and less packaging waste for your business.

Source washroom paper products responsibly:

We can make it easier for your business to source paper products responsibly. You can be confident in our paper supply chain; as of 2024, 96% of the paper we provided globally was environmentally accredited (FSC, EU Ecolabel or Blue Angel). This means it came from responsibly managed forests and other controlled sources.

Adaptable dispenser for sanitary products

Designing for the future

A product’s journey doesn’t end when it’s installed in your washroom. To support sustainability, consider the entire lifecycle of different products — from the energy used to create them to whether they can be recycled at the end of their life.

That’s why we consider the end of life for products in our development pipeline and have innovated products designed to be easier to refurbish or take apart for recycling. This helps us use fewer new materials and make changes towards a more circular economy.

Prioritise products that are recyclable by design:

FreeVend FlexCare, our adaptable dispenser for sanitary products, features steel components that are recyclable at end of life**, helping you minimise your own operational waste. These components are also manufactured and assembled using 100% renewable-backed energy.

Follow a local refurbishment approach:

We follow a local refurbishment approach where possible, with several key markets running active programmes that restore thousands of our dispensers each year. This reduces waste and extends the life of our products.

Partner with a forward-thinking team:

Our commitment to future improvements is driven by our dedicated Research and Development Centre. Our teams there work to keep us ahead of evolving hygiene requirements while remaining compliant with any changes in regulations.

Our promise: progress to net-zero carbon emissions

Under our parent company, Rentokil Initial plc, we’re taking the necessary steps to help our customers tackle their environmental impact while working towards our goal of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.

EcoVadis Silver Medal certification

We believe in partnering with suppliers who share our environmental and ethical values, and we use globally recognised standards to ensure this.

Our own dedication to these principles was recognised in 2025 when we received the EcoVadis Silver Sustainability Medal, placing us in the top 15% of all companies assessed. EcoVadis is the world's most geographically spread and most comprehensive provider of sustainability ratings, which assesses the widest ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) categories via third-party assessment. A key part of EcoVadis certification is the assessment of Sustainable Procurement.

We apply the same rigorous standards to our own partners. Where available, we prioritise independent, third-party certifications, such as EcoVadis. When external certification is limited, we use our own comprehensive internal rating, conducting assessments against the Rentokil Initial Supplier Management Standard. This standard is regularly reviewed to ensure it meets the highest criteria.

Reducing our reliance on plastics

In just over five years, Rentokil Initial has reduced its overall plastic use in packaging and products by 830.7 tonnes.

Increasing battery recycling

We’re expanding our battery recycling programmes across our global operations. For example, our team in the Pacific region has successfully diverted 56% of batteries from landfills and recycled 27,819kg of them. In Europe, we're now recycling 71% of all batteries.

Moving to a low-emission fleet

As members of EV100, we’re committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles. Our goal is to have 100% of our global fleet made up of ultra-low-emission vehicles (ULEVs) by 2040.

A partnership for people and the planet

Empowering environmental champions

Our award-winning online learning hub, U+, includes a wide range of courses covering different topics relevant to the business and designed to help RI employees thrive.

Among the training courses, several are dedicated to sustainability, designed to help our colleagues champion sustainable and responsible practices in their roles within the business, in their communities and with stakeholders. Since 2022, our team has completed 4,965 courses dedicated to sustainability.

Supporting communities

With our Rentokil Initial Cares programme, we support local and global initiatives that align with our purpose of Protecting People, Enhancing Lives and Preserving our Planet.

Over the last five years, donations and matched funding have totalled over £2.5 million, supporting our long-term partnerships to protect lives from malaria, enhance community health, and fight deforestation.
